Everything about that is what I wish I could sound like. This is literally incredible.

My Cavern Club, My Sin-é…

Is The Bell Inn, Watchet.

I bloody love the place, and I am playing there once more on Saturday 17th July.

I encourage my Somerset contingency to get on down there. I’ll play some of my stuff of course, but I’ve also been working on some crrrackin’ new covers for the pub setting. Stevie Wonder, The Jam, Darwin Deez, lots of babes really. But get on down, there is alcohol.

Tom

p.s. a massive thank you to those of you who listened to or downloaded my EP Division in the last month :) it is of course still available at http://tomstephens.bandcamp.com

Busking

It always feels weird when you first get your guitar out and some people look at you like you’re mental. Its always fun though if the weather is good, and there are lots of little moments that seem to happen every time I do it…

  • All the people who sit on a bench nearby watching and listening, tapping their feet, but never, ever giving any money.
  • All the smiley, nervous kids that give me the money their parents have given them to give me. And most of them stay around for a flail-ey dance.
  • The people who give you money who are really smiley and obviously love the song you’re playing, like the sweet old woman today who gave me money for playing a Buddy Holly song, and the hippy girl who gave me money for playing Under The Bridge.

Aaaand you also get some more individual occurrences.

Today’s busking highlights include…

  • The impressed-looking old man who gave me money and said I had a “really, really good, strong voice”.
  • A nice girl stopping and singing along to ‘Radar Detector’, giving me money and inviting me to an open mic night. Don’t remember her name…. oops. The ice-cream van man then said “I think you’ve pulled there…”
  • But my favourite - A bald, tattoo-headed, cap-wearing chav woman saying “Simon Cowell says no”, and giving me 20 euro cents… Yum yum.

‘If You Will Say’

The fourth, and final track taken from my recently released EP, Division. The music was written fairly quickly, and I wrote the lyrics whilst waiting for Mary Flew on some grass outside of college one afternoon… I think the chorus section is one my favourite things I’ve ever written.

I beg you all to take the time to download the whole EP absolutely free at http://tomstephens.bandcamp.com - Thank you!

‘Family Tree’

The third track taken from my recently released EP, Division. This is probably my favourite, maybe… I just love the string section!

I beg you all to take the time to download the whole EP absolutely free at http://tomstephens.bandcamp.com - Thank you very much :)
